Clear the Access Path
Trucks, wheelbarrows, and workers need a clean route from the street to the pour location. Move vehicles, garbage bins, and anything else that would block access.
Protect Landscaping Where Possible
Some landscape damage near the pour area is unavoidable. Where sensitive plants or features are in the path, mark them so the crew can plan around them.
Locate Utilities
Before digging or excavation, underground utilities should be located. That's a standard step and worth confirming before work begins.
Confirm the Work Zone
Walk the site with the contractor before pour day. Confirm the exact boundaries of the work, how transitions will be handled, and what will be removed.
Plan for Curing Time
New concrete needs curing time before it can accept foot or vehicle traffic. Plan alternate access ahead of the pour.
Talk About Cleanup
Confirm what cleanup is included and where waste concrete, formwork, and packaging will go.
